In answer to your questions my opinion is:
Yes I do think they are part funded/supported by the subscriptions. You or I don't know how the MS business model fully works but I suspect that the revenue from subs is used in several areas such as supporting MS game studios, buying DLC exclusives, dashboard and live service operations and so on.
MS have proven by the gold sub numbers worldwide and high service standards that a funded support model is business...
I Agree that the BBCi app runs poorly on PS3. Its good on iPad and having watched Top Gear on the Xbox yesterday I'm happy to say it runs well on the 360. Better late than never. Good on BBC for sticking to their guns.

I totally agree with you. As an older gamer myself I find the cash milking tactics of the modern publishers somewhat unsettling, and these practices are evolving constantly to find new ways of extracting multpile revenues from one title. I actually think that younger gamers and their disposable incomes are being exploited this gen and this industry practice isnt regulated in any consistent fashion.

Like anything it will take a while to get used to. It's not fair to pass final judgements on it yet. A bit like the Berlin map on Black ops its growing on me over time.
Having used a preview dash for a few weeks I found myself getting used to the locations of the content and ended up using the controls in new ways to get to my favourite parts. Love the voice control to look through the game markeyplace.

A few people will always have an issue its no biggy. Minor connection issues and MS are being good and keeping everyone informed. They do well to roll out 35Mill+ updates in this time.
I've had beta and now retail dash versions on my 2 machines and so far so good.

I totally agree mate. Treyarch did a grand job with black ops and I still play it now over MW3. The effort they put into the zombie maps was awsome and all of the other nice touches such as the hidden menu zombie game/walking around using terminal. I also like to dive to prone and having custom emblems.

The images speak for themselves. The bomb planting image shows just how diff these are rendered.
Still playing at 60fps on both machines with no tearing is the key with this game.
This engine hasn't really changed since COD4, hence the same alpha and blur issues on PS3.

I prefer the Treyarch games. WAW and BOPS felt like they had more effort put into them from the menus/side games to the zombies and the custom paint emblems etc.

Spyware is a strong term but If Origin installed without you knowing then it would be spyware.
The data its alleged to collect is in the realms of spyware.
Its far more than EA needs to know to run a game delivery server imo.
I don't want them having that access so its a no for me.

Awsome game and score is about right but the reviewer is fail for saying the game is too hard and the following statement.
"One of the most hardest levels in the entire game was a tracked called Gigatrack. Most levels in the game can be completed in roughly 2 – 3 minutes. This mammoth track is so long, I failed to complete it in under the 30 minute time limit!"
